Located just to the west of and within easy driving distance from the
Washington, DC, metropolitan area in Loudoun County, the Town of Leesburg,
the County Seat of Loudoun County, has held a significant place in history
during both the American Revolution and Civil War. Since those earlier
times, Leesburg has maintained its friendly small town atmosphere where
visitors are always welcome. Visitors can enjoy walking through the downtown Historic District which has been maintained closely to early period standards, browsing through the Loudoun Museum and many fine antique and specialty shops, researching genealogy or local history at the Thomas Balch Library, visiting the old Courthouse or other points of interest, and eating in a variety of restaurants. The Leesburg Historic District is centered at the intersection of Business Route 7 and Business Route 15 and has convenient public parking.
